February

Black & White

Black & white photography simply means a monochromatic image. This may be sepia or black and white. With no color, it is shapes and shades that become dominate in the photo. Keep in mind the lighting, contrast and shadows. The most successful images will have a timeless quality, a touch of romance which is impossible to achieve with color.

April

Macro / Close Up

A good macro brings the viewer in for an intimate look at details that could be missed when part of a bigger picture. Work with small objects or small details of a larger subject in which the size of the subject is greater than life-size. Think about the best use of color, perspective and composition. You may choose any subject. Reality Based Category

These images may show animal behavior and/or portraits of wild creatures including everything from baby animals, birds, mammals, underwater life, reptiles, amphibians, insects and spiders. Do not include images of pets or domestic animals. Banding or tagging on your subjects is acceptable. Photographs at bird feeders are not allowed if any part of the feeder is shown. Photographs taken in zoos or game farms are acceptable as long as the setting remains natural and the hand of man is not visible. This is a Reality Based Category.
