March Meeting - Bob Caperton
Bob Caperton will be our guest speaker, sharing on the process of Focus Stacking.
Focus stacking is a combination of Field and Post-processing steps, with the intention of producing a finished image that is tack sharp from several inches in front of the camera to infinity. This normally wouldn’t be possible with a single exposure even with a very small aperture of F22 or even smaller.

Join photographer Liron Gertsman for a virtual exploration of the night sky, and learn what it takes to plan, execute, and post-process night sky photos. From beginner to advanced techniques, you'll learn what it takes to achieve the most eye-catching and high-quality images for the stars.
Bio on Liron Gertsman:
You may have seen him on CBC’s “The National”, heard his voice on the radio, or seen his work in publications such Canadian Geographic magazine, The Guardian, GEO magazine, and others. Liron Gertsman has been photographing continuously since he first got his hands on a borrowed camera at the age of five. His work has been experienced by millions in some of the largest museums across the world, including the Natural History Museum in London and the Smithsonian in Washington DC. Liron uses his photos to educate on the importance of preserving and protecting the natural world for the continued health and existence of all who live on our planet. As a naturalist and photographer, he feels it is his duty to show people the essence of Earth, by thinking outside the box to create eye-catching images that connect people with the environment. Liron’s work has been widely recognized and awarded, sweeping the youth category of the 2018 Audubon Photography Awards and earning a highly commended designation in the prestigious Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition. Liron currently studies biology at the University of British Columbia as he continues to build upon his passion and commitment to the environment.

Erica Lane joins us to speak about her new photography book, talking about her motivation for her book, taking time to travel, and the challenge of doing the things you want now instead of later.
January Meeting: Jeannie Larson - Assistant Curator of Dahl Fine Arts Center
For our January club meeting we will have Jeannie Larson for our club speaker on the 12th.
Jeannie is the Assistant Curator at the Dahl Fine Arts Center. She helps to put on the Dahl Mt. Photo Competition and Exhibit.
Jeannie will talk about exhibiting, how to choose photos, printing and displaying, as well as talk about and answer questions specifically about the Dahl contest.

Skott Chandler: Editing Your Photos
Skott Chandler is a photographic artist, and educator at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, South Dakota. Skott came to photography late in his undergraduate career while studying Studio Art at Southern Utah University. During that time he experimented with the photographic medium, testing his limits and ideals of photography.
Skott has exhibited throughout the United States, as well as internationally in Bordeaux, France, Hong Kong, and Geneva, Switzerland.
